you will need:

  • 10 ( as long as possible) frankfurt sausages 
  • 500g of puff pastry (we're going to cheat and use shop bought- but you can make your own...if you want)
  • 1 medium egg
  • any mustard/ ketchup/ mayo for topping 


  • preheat the oven to 180 C
  • roll out the puff pastry so it's about 1/4 inch thick
  • cut the pasty into thin strips (about 1cm thick)- these will be the bandages
  • wrap the pasty about two thirds of the way up the sausages
  • wrap another strip around the 'head' of the sausage- leaving a space for the eyes 
  • space the mummies on a greased baking tray and brush with a beaten egg
  • cook for 15 minutes, until the pastry is golden
  • once out the oven, dot on ketchup/ mayo/ mustard for the eyes
